Luxury Watches |
This particular watch can be said to be a piece of sophistication due to its sober coloring and design. The metallic, brown color of the dial adds to the sophistication element on this watch while the steel bracelet adds to the classy touch that this particular watch has to offer. Three smaller dials are positioned in the main dial without giving the main dial a cluttered look. A sophisticatedly classy watch!

Introducing J.N. Shapiro Infinity Tantalum Limited Edition (Specs & Price)
Josh Shapiro, the man behind J.N. Shapiro Watches, is unique in many aspects. As we’ve explained in an interview with the young independent watchmaker, he’s one of the only to exercise this fine art in California – his workshop is located in Inglewood to be precise. With the idea to produce as much as possible in-house, and thus on US soil, he has recently created a highly attractive collection of elegant, high-end watches named the Infinity series. Based on this design, J.N. Shapiro now launches the Infinity Tantalum Limited Edition, with the first tantalum case produced outside of Switzerland and three different (and attractive) dial options.?Independent watchmaking has recently gained incredible traction and this gave ideas to many young and talented watchmakers, with most of them trying to bring something personal in their creations. For Josh Shapiro, it’s about his work on materials and crafting habillage pieces, all done in a traditional and ultra-detailed
The Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage - a Vintage Inspired Diver Full of Character - Monochrome Watches
The Alpina Diver Heritage, a homage?to the vintage Alpina Seastrong 10, is another retro re-edition of an old vintage diver ‘Super Compressor’ model from?the 1970’s. I think that in this case it’s fair to say Alpina has chosen wisely in?responding to the vintage-inspired trend, a strategy successfully adopted by many other brands already. So, what is the Seastrong, and how?does it stack up in this crowded segment of the market? Monochrome dives into the world of Alpina and the new Seastrong Diver Heritage to find out.?Alpina – The CompanyAlpina Watches is one of those Swiss manufacturers that is?perhaps not at the forefront of the industry in terms of exposure however, it?has a story that deserves to be told. The company was founded in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland in 1883 by Gottlieb Hauser, a watchmaker in Winterthur who also founded the Swiss Watchmakers Corporation (“Union Horlogere Suisse”) with the?sole purpose of?uniting Swiss wat
Tribute to the Speedmaster First Omega in Space, Now Discontinued
While in 2021 vintage-inspired watches are all over the place, in 2012 the situation was slightly different. There were some homage or revival watches already, but the trend was less obvious. Specifically, if you were in the market for a Speedmaster with retro-styling, the main option was the all-time classic, the Moonwatch Professional (which has just been updated). Despite countless limited editions, most of them were relatively modern, and a proper vintage re-edition had yet to be launched. This came in 2012, with the introduction of the Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space, a quite faithful take on the CK2998, as indicated by its name, the first Omega to be worn in Space, on the wrist of Wally Schirra. This numbered, non-limited edition was and still is a very attractive model… but Omega has decided to give an end to its career. And that’s why we’ve decided to pay tribute to one of the coolest Speedmaster editions.?the First Omega in SpaceThe links between Omega
The Collector's Corner - Discussing the IWC Deep One IW3527
The fourth entry in The Collector's Corner sees us returning to IWC, and though the company might best be known for its pilot’s watches, we are taking a plunge into the depths today. There are dive watches, and there are DIVE watches – the latter refers to watches that are so over-engineered that they are basically a piece of survival kit in their own right. The IWC Deep One is a DIVE watch, and it is our subject today. And it's one of the most fascinating, instrumental, and collectable watches of the brand.?BackgroundWe took a look at IWC's history leading up to the quartz crisis in our first post in The Collector’s Corner?before we dove deeper into the pivotal role Gunter Blumlein played in shaping what we know as the modern IWC. Instead of treading that same ground (or water - ok, I'll stop with the puns now!) again, let us look at some lines of sports watches that emerged in this era.? Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Introducing the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Unique Travel Time with hand-engraved dial (Specs & Price) - Monochrome-Watches
What is there to say about the Jaeger-LeCoultre?Duometre Unique Travel Time except that it is one of the best traveller’s watches created recently. There are several categories of timepieces that can indicate two timezones, starting from classical?traveler GMT watches to office GMT watches and proper world-timers. However, only a?handful?of them have a?second timezone adjustable to-the-minute. The?Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre is one of them and it now comes?with a sumptuous hand-engraved dial.Let’s first talk functions.?Most worldtimers are built to indicate the time in 24 different timezones around the world, however some nations felt the urge to create additional timezones with 15min, 30min or 45min deviations. Kind of problematic for the watchmaking industry, right.?Some (a few) watches however came with a solution, like for instance the recently revealed Glashutte Original Senator Cosmopolite?or the Vacheron-Constantin Patrimony World Time, two watches that indicate the 37
