Introducing the DeWitt Academia Mathematical Concept Watch No. 4 (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watch
You know us, here at Monochrome-Watches. We just can’t help ourselves when it comes to the appeal for non-classical horology. It’s especially true when it comes to unusual displays, meaning watches that tells times not with 2 or 3 classical hands but with… well, anything that are?not hands. Liquids, discs, satellites… we love all ‘other displays‘. For this reason, we had a strong interest in a brand we don’t usually cover and for a special watch, the?DeWitt Academia Mathematical a.k.a Concept Watch No. 4.The main attraction of the?DeWitt Academia Mathematical?is its apparent chaos of numbers and discs. Don’t expect its dial?to be as rigorous and balanced as a Lange Zeitwerk. Instead, it comes with 4 independent discs that are displaying the time information’s in a very strange but, in the end, legible way. As time is usually identify by 4 numbers (xx:xx), this watch is composed of 4?totally autonomous jumping numerals that are enlig

Richard Mille RM 029 All Grey Boutique Edition ¡®Yellow Flash - Monochrome Watches
Richard Mille’s RM 010 is an all-time classic by now and most watch connoisseurs recognize its tonneau-shaped case, with skeletonized movement and sapphire dial, instantly. Handling the red gold version for a few minutes, several years ago, was enough to be convinced of the superb quality and comfort. Yet Richard Mille believed it was possible to improve the RM 010, by adding a big date, resulting in the RM 029. Now there’s the RM 029 All Grey Boutique Edition ‘Yellow Flash’.?The RM 029 is recognizable like the RM 010, yet improved on some points. It’s case for instance is more than 1mm thinner and that’s?notable on the wrist. The ‘overused date’ is also a real improvement, as it’s numbers are now positioned horizontally, instead of the vertically positioned date numerals in?the RM 010’s date aperture. What strikes most is that Richard Mille’s watches are both aesthetically as well as technically designed to be the max,
Glashutte-Original Senator Chronometer - Reviewed with Photos, Specs and Price - Monochrome Watches
It was actually because of one specific timepiece, that I got to know about the German high-end watch brand Glashutte Original. That specific watch was the Senator Sixties, which was introduced in 2007. It triggered me because I had just bought an old watch that was the spitting image of exactly that new watch, although mine was not labeled Glashutte-Original, but only Glashutte as ‘brand’ name. Since that time I’ve been watching the brand closely and when they introduced the Senator Chronometer I was (again) very impressed. I had the chance to wear, what I?consider to be the very finest from this high-end German watch brand, the Glashutte-Original Senator Chronometer.Of course, Glashutte-Original makes more complicated, and more eye-catching, timepieces. Take for instance the Senator Tourbillon, or the PanoLunar Tourbillon, that both feature a flying tourbillon. The flying tourbillon was invented by one of the brands’s forefathers, Alfred Helwig. Of course ther
