Announcing: Dubai Watch Week Returns Bigger Than Ever in November 2023
One of the key events in the region and in the global watch calendar, Dubai Watch Week is held every other year. Having attended the previous edition, I had a truly memorable time there, so don't miss out on this instalment! Organized Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Watch Week will reconvene for its 6th edition from 16th to 20th November 2023 at The Gate, a venue with over 100,000sqm in the heart of Dubai's financial district. The event keeps gaining importance with 55 watch brands, the highest participation to date!Founded in 2015 by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and organized every other year, Dubai Watch Week is a true highlight of the watch industry's calendar: exclusive, relaxed, experiential, entertaining and educational at the same time. Introducing the Laurent Ferrier Galet Square Autumn, with a new 5N red gold dial (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
Saying that the?Laurent Ferrier Galet Square was?welcomed and?that it is a superb achievement is kind of an understatement. This watch is simply superb. When launched, it was the entry-level proposition of the brand, with a (slightly) sportier look, a stainless steel case, a more?reasonable?price but still with the same true elegance and a perfectly finished, innovative movement. As we’re now in the middle of October, Laurent Ferrier has just decided to add a new iteration to the collection (that you can see in the flesh here) with a brushed red gold dial. Here is the?Laurent Ferrier Galet Square Autumn.Until now, the Laurent Ferrier Galet Square was only available in 2 main editions, with a stainless steel case. The first one was a classic from the small independent manufacture, with a vertically brushed blue dial and usual indexes. The other one was a sort of cleaned edition, with a more vintage feeling, due to a warm silver / light gold dial, a natural leather strap and a very
Chris Cashion and his rather special GoS Skadi - Monochrome Watches
Each member of the MONOCHROME team has their favourites among the many brands and watches we share with you all. One of the brands I have been following closely since I joined MONOCHROME is the Swedish brand Gustafsson & Sjogren, or GoS in short. The duo of Patrik Sjogren and Johan Gustafsson offers very unique watches incorporating hand-forged Damascus steel for the cases, bezels, crowns, dials and more. So when the opportunity to chat with the owner of a very special 1-of-5 GoS Skadi popped up, I just had to follow through.Just as a reminder, as we've covered the watch about a year ago, the GoS Skadi is somewhat of a direct result of the collaboration between GoS and Singer Reimagined Track 1 for OnlyWatch 2019. That specific collab piece was the first time GoS presented a watch with a case in blackened Damascus steel. The Skadi is the first GoS watch to offer a similar styled blackened Damascus steel case as the collab piece. It is combined with the
Hands-On - 2022 TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 in 40mm
Last year TAG Heuer revamped the well-known Aquaracer Professional range, the brand's long-standing dive watch collection. It featured an updated, more refined look that was in line with the collection's lineage that started with the 2000-series in the early 1980s. The DNA is especially apparent in the overall shape of the case, which is retained albeit updated in the latest collection. New for 2022 is the addition of a slightly less beefy and bulky diver, and we've already gotten our hands on it prior to the LVMH Watch Week. Here's the new 40mm TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200.The origins of the Aquaracer collection can be traced back to the early 1980s when TAG Heuer presented the 2000-series of watches. This series of dive and chronograph watches lasted until 2005, a year after TAG Heuer used the Aquaracer moniker for the first time. Since then, it has been a stable part of the brand's portfolio. Video - The Ulysse Nardin Marine Torpilleur Collection at Geneva Watch Days 2021
Last week, during the 2021 edition of the Geneva Watch Days, we enjoy the ability to visit brands and discovering their latest creation, in the metal (something that has been unfortunately rare in the past 2 years). Since we were able to touch and feel these new watches, we also took the time to talk with the teams behind their creation and we’ve already published multiple videos on MONOCHROME. And to continue with our live report of the GWD, we visited Ulysse Nardin, the specialist of the Marine Chronometers. And what’s better than a complete capsule collection of Marine Torpilleur watches to celebrate this jubilee…? We have Jean-Christophe Sabatier, Chief Product Officer at Ulysse Nardin, giving us all the details about these watches that couldn’t be more UN.Ulysse Nardin founded his eponymous brand in 1846 in Le Locle, Switzerland. And even though having a large portfolio of high-end watches, the brand is mostly revered for its precision marine chronometers.
