Review: Diving With The Casio G-Shock Frogman MRG-BF1000R
The name Casio, rendered in that never-changing font, has the ability to conjure a wide array of nostalgic feelings for people of a certain age. For me, it conjures up warm memories of a 1980s childhood filled with a bevy of calculator watches and F91s and SK-5 keyboards. I can still hear those dog and laser sounds, clear as day. For others of a more scholarly bent, it likely brings to mind the simple pocket calculator or those very intimidating graphing calculators that seemed to hold the power to control the world if you knew what all the crazy buttons did.?Whatever your particular flavour, Casio has held a permanent place in a lot of our hearts for a lot of our lives. No small feat from their humble beginnings as the inventor of a cigarette-holding ring in post-WWII Japan that allowed both hands to be kept free for work while continuing to smoke. 2022 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Moonshine Gold - Hands-On, Price
The classic Moonwatch by Omega is one of the most iconic and laureled chronograph watches in history. It is forever intertwined with the Apollo space missions, the moon landing and NASA. But since the 1970s, the Speedmaster has made it into a full-blown collection and remains one of the pillars for Omega. New for 2022 is the introduction of two 18k Moonshine gold models, one in deep green, and one with a black-and-gold Panda dial. Here are the two Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Moonshine Gold. We're not going to spend too much going through the entire history of the Speedmaster, as we've already shared the story in previous in-depth articles (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3). Instead, we dive straight in with these two novelties and the special alloy used by Omega. Moonshine gold is a proprietary alloy with a pale, yellow-ish shine that’s said to evoke the lunar glow set against a deep blue sky. It joins the 18k Sedna Gold and 18k Canopus Gold models released in previous years. Moonshine Gold
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono reviewed - Monochrome Watches
When Omega introduced the new Seamaster Planet Ocean with the new in-house caliber 9300 last year, this was something that really interested me. Omega was so kind to let me review this dive watch with impressive specifications and impressive dimensions. ?It takes a few days or weeks to get a good idea what a watch is really like and how it’s on the wrist. Is it really that big or heavy, does wear comfortable, how is it in different circumstances, is it easy to read the time and how does it perform? I strapped the Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono on the wrist for six weeks and wrote a review. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotto do it… Ad - Scroll to continue with article When I became interested in watches, the Omega Seamaster ‘James Bond’ was one of the first watches that caught my attention. SIHH 2018 - Geoffroy Lefebvre of Jaeger-LeCoultre, On The New Collection - Monochrome Watches
When it comes to discussing classic dress watches, Jaeger-LeCoultre is a name that often comes up early and repeatedly. The Manufacture is a well-established player in this segment of the market and is very, very good at what it does. As Geoffroy Lefebvre, Deputy CEO, explains in the above video, however, JLC also wants to give its customers an attractive option in the everyday sports/casual watch category. The result, is the new Polaris collection, inspired in large part by the Memovox Polaris timepiece from 1968. Although it may be an unexpected move from the brand, it is certainly not an unwelcome one.If you've been following along with our SIHH 2018 coverage (which we hope you have!), you likely would have read all about the new Polaris collection on MONOCHROME already.
