Hands-On - The 2022 Tudor Black Bay Chrono S&G Champagne Dial
It is far from an industry secret that the Black Bay collection is Tudor's cash cow. And by saying that, I am by no means implying that as a bad thing. Far from it, the Black Bay and its retro-cool vibe have become a formidable and versatile platform for different materials and colour combinations. Heck, multiple iterations of it have found their way into the collection of several MONOCHROME editors. With no fewer than seven sub-collections, stretching to an even greater number if you include all sizes and colour variations, there are many options. And while most might focus on the new Black Bay Pro or the BB58, there's one new release we certainly didn't want to keep from you. The watch in question is the sparkling (pun intended) Tudor Black Bay Chrono with champagne yellow gold dial.Black Bay BackgroundThe Black Bay saga started in 2012, which honestly feels like ages ago. Since then, we've seen it morph from a cool-looking dive watch with an outsourced movement into a ubiquitous col
Video - New Bvlgari Octo Roma Watches & Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse
Last week were the Geneva Watch Days 2021, a great initiative that allowed us to visit brands exposing to this self-managed and (yes, something rare these days), physically-organised event. While most of the MONOCHROME team was attending the event, reporting live with multiple articles displaying the new models presented during the fair, it also gave us the opportunity to meet with brands and their representatives. Among them was, of course, Bvlgari (the initiator of the GWD) that was presenting multiple new models, including new Octo Roma watches and, best of all, the ultra-cool Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse. In this video interview, we’ll talk to Antoine Pin, Managing Director of the Bvlgari Watch Division, who will guide us through the 2021 collection.?The Bvlgari Watch Division must have had quite a prolific product meeting before Geneva Watch Days 2021, seeing all the new models that were introduced during this event. The focus of the year clearly is travelling, with two new, an
SIHH 2015 - Cle de Cartier - hands-on with live photos & specs - Monochrome Watches
Anyone who has ever carved the snow on skis or hugged a turn's line in a sports car or caressed the slope of a woman's back will appreciate the curves in the Cle de Cartier. Cartier's iconic march of shapes from Santos to Tank to Rontonde arrives at a new simplicity of innovation, design and form. The hard lines of geometry and sharp edges found in many watches disappear, and this watch introduces an elegance of smooth. The new Cle de Cartier, literally key, named for the shape of the crown, unlocks a svelte combination of gentle slopes and swooping curves based on the inspiration of a perfect circle. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The bezel is rounded, the lugs are tapered, and even the 40mm case (in white or pink gold, on bracelet or leather strap, with or without diamonds) bends in supplication, fitting the wrist like an embrace. Does one wear the Cle d

Here we are, the day before?the official opening of the most important week of the watchmaking industry, Baselworld. Two month ago was already an important moment, the SIHH. However, Baselworld remains the biggest watch fair around the world, the one that all the journalists, the collectors and the industry is looking for. To bring you the best of the Basel watch fair, we’re on the road to Baselworld 2015.2015 began hard for Monochrome-Watches. Hundreds of brand will be there in order to introduce their collections to both journalists, a few collectors and retailers.?Patek Philippe, , Tudor, all Swatch Group brands – including Omega, Breguet or?Glashutte Original – TAG Heuer and all the independents watchmakers tha
Introducing The Tudor Black Bay GMT Polar White Dial
The Tudor Black Bay GMT model has been with us since 2018. Inspired by vintage Tudor watches from the 1950s and 60s, it has a classic and elegant look with a bold red and blue Pepsi bezel, reminiscent of the iconic GMT-Master. Five years after its introduction, the model gets a facelift and remains an exciting and attractive timepiece for its functionality and design. And mostly, it gets the polar white dial that some?were?expecting from the Crown. And still, it looks very good. The New Tudor Black Bay GMT gets an all-new silvery-opaline dial – yes, the so-called polar white – and the matte version of the deep-blue and burgundy rotating bezel, the rest, including performance and valuable features, remains pretty much as in the earlier edition. The case is 41mm stainless steel; the watch is 200m water-resistant; the GMT complication allows it to keep track of multiple time zones. The robust in-house automatic COSC-certified Calibre MT5652 with a silicon balance spring does
