A timepiece par excellence, the La Grande Classique de Longines from Longines is a subtle blend of tradition, performance, and elegance. The ultra-slim profile of its aesthetically designed case adds to its timeless beauty, while the deceptively simple white dial will elegantly encapsulate the wrists of the women who value reliability. SIHH 2014: A. Lange & Sohne presents the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna - Monochrome Watches
After the presentation in 2013 of the Grand Complication and more recently of the Grand Lange 1 Moon-Phase, the 2014 edition of the SIHH is the time for A. Lange & Sohne to reveal another masterpiece, showing once again the expertise of the manufacture in complicated movements and innovation. The Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna combines a perpetual calendar, a regulator display, a 14 days power reserve and a constant force escapement. Already impressive in itself, the front dial is not the only that attracts us; the Terraluna features on its movement side a brand new orbital moon-phase display. The Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna is a 45.5mm watch available in both a pink or white gold case. The front face may look quite busy, but regarding at the level of information it brings, the dial is well design. The regulator-layout is build around three circles - the minutes on the top - the hours on the right side - the seconds on the left side. The perpetual calendar
The new A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Up Down - Monochrome Watches
The number 1815 is a significant date in the history of A. Lange & Sohne. It is the year Ferdinand A. Lange was born in Dresden. The founder of the company began his apprenticeship with renowned watchmaker Johann Christian Friedrich Gutkaes. The brand today creates some of the finest?timepieces in existence. I make the?statement with some authority having?witnessed the craftsmanship first hand at?their Manufacture in Glashutte, near Dresden. Moreover, I am the proud owner of an A. Lange & Sohne 1815 in yellow gold with a tastefully restrained 40mm case.?Indeed, Mrs Davies also loves the German marque owning an earlier version of the 1815, presented in pink gold with a 36mm case. There would never be any question of us parting company with our beloved Lange timepieces.?I am happily married and always return home to the loving arms of my long-suffering wife. However, I am an alpha male and cannot deny I have noted the odd feminine ankle pass me by.Some men, as they approach middle
The New Patek Philippe ref. 5200G - Gondolo 8 Days with Day & Date Indication - Monochrome Watches
Patek Philippe just introduced a new reference in their collection, which might easily become a future classic. The new ref. 5200G (the G refers to its white gold case) is part of the Gondolo collection and features an 8-Days manually wound movement with a day and date indicator. Albeit ref. 5200G is an entirely new model, it shares some similarities with two other Gondolo models, both the ref.5124 and the legendary ref.?5100 10-Day Power Reserve?Millennium Edition, nicknamed?“Manta Ray.”The Gondolo collection finds its inspiration in Art Deco and offers less common case shapes, like tonneau, rectangular, square and cushion shaped cases. Launched in 1993, this collection was named after the “Chronometro Gondolo” watches that Patek Philippe designed for the renowned Brazilian retailer Gondolo & Labouriau in the early 1900’s. Just look at the side of the new 5200G’s case and you’ll immediately recognize the Art Deco influences. Ad
TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02 In-House CBL2111.FC6453 - Hands-On (Specs & Price)
The 50th-anniversary celebrations of the iconic Monaco watch and its early automatic chronograph movement aren’t over yet – it’s still 2019 after all. Yet, after a series of super-limited editions, one for each decade, it is time to come back to regular production watches. On the occasion of this commemorative year, TAG makes an important move on its classic blue dial, 3 o’clock-crown Monaco – the modern one, not the Steve McQueen-inspired model. Say goodbye to the Monaco Calibre 12 and its outsourced movement; say hello to the new TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02, with the brand’s own chronograph movement.BackgroundWe’re not going to review the full history of the Monaco here, but we’re going to focus on the TAG Heuer era. If you want the full story of the Heuer Monaco (understand the 1969 model), we’ve recently produced an in-depth video that will tell you all about this iconic chronograph watch. Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Burgundy and Two New Reverso Duoface (Hands-On) - Monochrome Watches
Earlier this year, during the SIHH 2019, Jaeger-LeCoultre released a triple round of its iconic Reverso. A Reverso Tribute Small Seconds with a superb Burgundy dial and two editions of the Reverso Tribute Duoface join the timeless Reverso family. Like their 1931 ancestor, all three manifestations of the Reverso come with manual-winding movements but flaunt Casa Fagliano leather straps. Let’s have a closer look at these three (beautiful) additions to the collection.A utilitarian solution harbours an iconThe Reverso was LeCoultre’s ingenious response to a request from British colonial army officers stationed in India. As keen polo players, they were constantly smashing the glass on their watches and jeopardizing the mechanism of their wristwatches during the brutal matches. In 1931, LeCoultre patented its reversible watch (it wasn't until 1937 that Jaeger merged to become Jaeger-LeCoultre). A triumph of Art Deco restraint and sleek geometric glamour, the Reverso was launched
