The 1108 Nomos Metro 38 watch is all about appearing larger than it is. The design focuses on the refined dial which follows a very simple yet stunning aesthetic. The galvanized white silver-plated dial features dot hour markers which help make this watch appear bigger than it is due to an uncluttered feel. The blue indexes are at the three, six, nine, and twelve o'clock positions. Furthermore, the look is enhanced by the slender bezel. It boasts a stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal glass back. The attached strap is a Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan black one.

Concorso d'Eleganze Villa d'Este 2013 - Event Recap - Monochrome Watches
Earlier this year I was invited by A. Lange & Sohne to visit the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, in Italy. The Concorso d’Eleganza is one of the most prestigious classic car events in the world. Although I’m no total petrol head, I said yes and enjoyed a most wonderful trip and relished the sight of magnificent automobiles. I prepared for you a short and sweet event recap, with many photos of the most wonderful historic cars. The Concorso d’Eleganza is an?the elegance competition for classic and vintage cars, and it takes place in and around the beautiful Villa d’Este,?on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. It has been organized every single year, since 1929! Well, the Italians love beautiful cars. For the past ten years BMW is part of the organization and this year they introduced us on a new concept car, which was developed together with Pininfarina: the?BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe. Audemars Piguet Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique - Review, Price
The new Audemars Piguet Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique challenges the conventional way of reading time with just one hand for the hours and minutes. Clearly not a watch for people obsessed with chronometer-grade precision, time is meant to be read approximately, give or take a few minutes here and there. Original and bristling with unusual textures and finishes, the Millenary Philosophique sports a new automatic movement and comes in two versions: 18k pink gold with a brown dial and 18k white gold with a blue dial. Let’s have a look at this unusual and poetical timepiece.ProvenanceThe distinguishing feature of Audemars Piguet's Millenary collection is its oval-shaped case. Introduced in 1995, it originally catered for men and women alike but since 2015 only features women's models in the line-up. With its generous case size of 39.5mm, the Millenary has become something of a showcase for creativity, artisanal skills and unconventional, off-centred dials often exposing parts
Longines Heritage Classic With Black Sector Dial - Hands-On, Price
Longines’ Heritage collection, the brand’s playground for vintage re-editions, has become a reference for anyone looking for a retro-styled watch. Well-executed and loyal to the originals, the watches in the Heritage collection also come with relatively accessible prices. There’s a wide choice in this collection, ranging from elegant models to more instrumental watches?or military-inspired pieces. Most of them deserve attention, but one, in particular, stands out for us at MONOCHROME, and that is the Heritage Classic Sector Dial. First launched in a serene silver edition, it now returns with a striking black dial and cool BoR bracelet, and we gave it a test on the wrist.Knowing the extent of the brand’s vintage collection, the Longines Heritage could be an endless story. There are hundreds of models, from historically important pilot’s watches to handsome chronographs or attractive dive watches. And Longines is well aware that it is sitting on a gold mine,
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Repetition Minutes Perpetuelle (Specs & Price)
Jaeger-LeCoultre might be famous for its minimalistic, Art Deco watch, the Reverso, or for its elegant Master collection but this would be a reductive appraisal considering everything else the Grande Maison can achieve: metiers d’art, complex movements, superb designs. This year, at the SIHH, the brand introduced an incredible masterpiece, the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster, as well as a new design for its high-end Master watches. Combining these two, the brand has presented another impressive piece with an innovative chiming mechanism – and more. Here’s the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Repetition Minutes Perpetuelle.A complex chimeThe first striking aspect (pun intended) of this new Master Grande Tradition is its chiming mechanism. We already knew that JLC was one of the most knowledgeable manufactures when it comes to minute repeaters: it is the only brand in the world to have over 200 chiming watch calibres in its historical and mode
In-Depth - The Ulysse Nardin Freak, 20 years of Watchmaking Innovation
The genius and madness are separated by a very thin line. Weirdos and rebels, people who are different enough, crazy enough, are the ones who change the world. In that respect, the Ulysse Nardin Freak could not be more aptly named. This innovative, disruptive avant-garde masterpiece smashed all conventions and simply changed what's on our wrist todayThe late 1990s were still a time for the renaissance of mechanical watchmaking and the Swiss watch industry hadn't yet fully recover. Back then, very few watchmakers were actually producing movements internally. Most of the industry was sourcing from the same movement manufacturers, ETA for industrial movements, and a few high-end makers such as Frederic Piguet, Lemania, Zenith or Girard-Perregaux, to name a few. Most of the brands were simply happy enough with the renewed interest in mechanical watchmaking Ad - Scroll to continue with article
