First Look: The New Black-on-Black AP Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 42mm
About two years ago, Audemars Piguet released an absolutely stunning watch, the black ceramic Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, a.k.a the Black Beast. A monochromatic and high-tech take on one of the most important watches of the brand – at least in modern days – this watch merged the classic look of the 1993 ROO with contemporaryrn, stealthy-looking case and bracelet. As part of the new models released by AP for its 2025 collection, is this watch – also a reference 26238CE – with an even blacker look. And while initially we decided to call it the “Blacker-than-Black Beast”, things are actually a bit more complex.?What is an AP Beast? Well, we have to travel back to the early 1990s, when the brand was struggling to sell its classic luxury sports watch, the Royal Oak Jumbo – these were very different times. To boost sales and gain attention, Stephen Urquhart, then AP's Chairman, turned to an external designer – Emmanuel Gueit, then a fresh n
Introducing: The Green 38mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m
Qualifying as Omega’s perfect everyday watch, the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection has long represented an elegant take on the aquatic watch or, conversely, a dress watch with a sportier vibe – take your pick. Over the years, we’ve seen countless editions of this watch, specifically following its facelift in 2017. It’s also been a testing ground for colours, as we saw with the Shades collection here. Today’s addition to the collection is a bit more classic, though. Following the introduction of a green teak-inspired dial on the 41mm Aqua Terra in 2020, it’s now time for the more compact 38mm to get this cool colour scheme. The classic Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m as we all know it – understand by that the versions with a sporty style and a teak-inspired dial – is available in two dimensions, a masculine 41mm model and a mid-size 38mm edition. In any case, it’s a watch we’ve long appreciated for its versatility – we̵
TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 02 "Grand Prix de Monaco Historique" Edition - Monochrome Watches
Racing along the tight curves of the Formula 1 city circuit, historic cars compete in the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, a reference in the motoring world and one of the most important historic car racing events. TAG Heuer, maker of iconic racing chronographs, including the Monaco, was already the Official Watch of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Monaco Top Cars Collection. The brand has now been appointed Official Sponsor and Timekeeper of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Some partnerships just seem like natural fits.AUTO LEGENDSThe 1950s and 1960s were the golden age of motor-racing and of mechanical watch design. It was a period of authentic connection between automotive and horological worlds. At Heuer, stopwatches and dashboard instruments were the mainstay of the company business. Instead of soulless reference numbers, the brand started to use distinctive names for its chronographs like the Autavia, the Carrera or the Camaro And in 1969, Heuer launched the Monaco.
The Mighty BCHH Celestial Infinity Table Clock
Incredible things can materialise when you combine the creative aspirations of a wealthy Singaporean vintage watch collector and the talents of an Italian master clockmaker. One of Benjamin Chee’s three watchmaking brands is the high-end Benjamin Chee Haute Horlogerie (BCHH), responsible for the beautiful Celestial Voyager made with Svend Andersen. Chee’s latest fantasy transcends mundane preoccupations and reaches genuinely galactic proportions. Conceived and handcrafted by Italian master clockmaker Alessandro Rigotto, the BCHH Celestial Infinity is a two-faced table clock: one dial hosts the hours and minutes with a pendulum-driven clock, while the second dial displays a stunning planetarium complete with a diamond-studded constellation that happens to be the largest rotating star disc in the clock-making world.Three brands, one manBenjamin Chee, the reputed Singaporean vintage watch collector with deep pockets is the man behind three different watch brands. Chee's appeti
The New Vacheron Constantin Quai de l'Ile in Stainless Steel - Hands-on Photos, Specs and Price - Monochrome Watches
When?I first laid eyes on the Vacheron Constantin Quai de l’Ile, when it?was first introduced in 2007, I didn’t exactly know how to position it. This watch, or better these watches, were a tad more sporty / casual than the average classic dress watch, and also a bit more chic than the average sports watch. Maybe a perfect allrounder? The unique mix-n-match case options offered customers to choose from various materials – red gold, titanium, steel – to create their ultimate personalised combination. In theory a great option, however in reality it confused potential customers. Now, nine years after the initial launch, we see two new stainless steel versions of the Vacheron Constantin Quai de l’Ile. And that’s not all… the new steel Quai de l’Ile sports the all new calibre 5100/1. Could this maybe be the perfect allrounder??The herd of the Quai de l’Ile collection has already been thinned, and comprises, besides the two new steel model
