Bulgari Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar (Video, Price)
It's official; Bvlgari has just trumped itself with the seventh world record for thinness. Meet the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar, the world's thinnest perpetual calendar, compressed inside an automatic movement just 2.75mm thick, and a case of 5.80mm. The sway Bvlgari has exerted on the watchmaking scene for the past seven years is staggering. Not only has the brand crowned itself as the master of ultra-slim movements for seven consecutive years, but it has also redefined the aesthetic of timepieces in a contemporary, stylish design language. We had the opportunity to have a close look at this new, ultra-thin, ultra-impressive piece, with our hands-on photos and, as you can see on top, a video that goes deep into the details!Octo Finissimo Legion of RecordsDuring the past seven years, Bvlgari has earned seven world records for its ultra-thin movements. Bulgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic Steel/Grey Hands-On
Marking Bulgari‘s fifth record in the arena of ultra-thin models, the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic took home the trophy as the world’s thinnest mechanical chronograph in 2019. With a 6.90mm sandblasted titanium case and a movement just 3.30mm thin, the victor upped the complications and combined its chronograph with a GMT. In 2020, Bulgari introduced a sub-collection within the Octo Finissimo family known as the Octo Finissmo S (s for steel), slightly beefier versions housed in steel cases. The brand’s ultra-thin stopwatch was also given the “S” treatment in 2021 and appeared in a somewhat larger steel case with a blue dial. For 2022, Bulgari proposes another all-steel version with a silver-toned dial that captures the sleek monochromatic look that has become a signature of the Octo Finissimo family. When Bulgari decided to make the Octo Finissimo case more robust and more water-resistant, it created a sportier and more resilient timepiece that
Christopher Ward C9 Harrison 5-Day Automatic with the brand's first in-house movement - Monochrome Watches
The introduction of a new in-house movement does not happen every day and is an important moment for any watch brand. Well, maybe not so much for Jaeger-LeCoultre, who have more then 1,000 calibres on their repertoire. However it definitely is a very important moment for a relatively young watch brand that isn’t even Swiss. British watch brand Christopher Ward introduce their first in-house movement, calibre SH21, in the C9 Harrison 5-Day Automatic.?The newly developed movement first appear in Christopher Ward’s flagship collection – the Harrison collection. Aesthetically this is the best that Christopher Ward has to offer, although the C5 Malvern Slimline that we recently showed as value proposition is also in line with the same aesthetic codes. The design is clean and strong. The finish of the case is nice, and comprises brushed and polished parts, and it features a rather thin bezel and therefore relatively large dial. With a diameter of 43mm and 13.45mm in height,
The Record-Breaking 2023 Season Of The Formula 1 World Championship
I’m torn between considering the 2023 season of the Formula 1 World Championship good or bad for the sport. We saw utter dominance, where one team has won all but one race in the season, and specifically one driver declassing the entire field. And this to an extent we have never seen before and are likely never to see again. But what does that mean heading forward? Is it good or bad for F1 and its popularity down the line? I have no idea and I lack a crystal ball to predict the impact, but I can say this; the drivers behind?Max Verstappen gave us some really intense battles, and witnessing the level of perfection Max delivered race after race was unbelievable in its own right. And with that in mind, after 22 races all across the globe, it’s time to look back at the 2023 Formula 1 season. The class of 2023.It’s impossible to deny the impressive performance of both the Max Verstappen and the Red Bull team, but behind the sheer dominance there was tons of drama and excite
