Interview Wilhelm Schmid Lange Sohne on Managing Collectability and Demand
It is no secret that a large part of the watch industry is currently facing a rise in popularity, with a demand often surpassing the production capacity. While some have the ability to release more watches on the market, it's tempting for a few companies to benefit from this situation and to cap production and increase desirability. Production isn't a matter of machines, it's all about skilled people and their hands. With this situation in mind, we thought it was the perfect time for us to sit down with the CEO of A. Lange & Sohne, Mister Wilhelm Schmid, in order to understand what is the brand's strategy when it comes to managing demand, to find the right collectors, to avoid those who are in for the short run In short, to make sure that the few but handsome watches the Saxon brand is capable of manufacturing end up on the right
The New Bulgari Octo Finissimo Carbon Gold Editions (Live Pics & Video)
Attaining iconic status in the world of watchmaking is no easy feat. This is what however very much what Bulgari has achieved in a record span of just ten years, with the bold contemporary Italian design and sophisticated Swiss mechanics of the Octo Finissimo. Naturally, the Octo Finissimo is above anything else a statement of style and class. Bulgari crowned itself the master of ultra-slim movements, through what the brand likes to call La Estetica de la Meccanica. This culminated in no less than 8 world records in ultra-thin watchmaking since 2014. But one aspect that is not often widely discussed is how the use of the material has been crucial in the evolution of this collection, if only for a matter of colour, comfort and touch for this eminently tactile and ergonomic watch. On the occasion of Geneva Watch Days 2023, Bulgari introduces two new versions of its ultra-thin luxury sports watch in an original combination of materials: Carbon and Gold.Following titanium, platinum, rose a

Whoever has experienced traversing the globe (by plane, train or automobile) while wearing a mechanical timepiece has at one point run into the drawbacks of regular time-only watches. introducing: A Trio Of Evocative H Moser & Cie X Bucherer Watches
In the world of luxury watch retailers, Bucherer holds a rather special place. Not only has it been announced that has acquired the well-established watch retailer (the biggest in the world), but it also has a long history of collaborative watches. Always revolving around some kind of blue, these Bucherer limited editions can range from relatively affordable to astronomically expensive. As they share a common theme, though, the result is, more often than not, rather striking. The latest special edition pieces to be released see Bucherer return to the creativity of H. Moser & Cie?for a trilogy of watches based on the Pioneer and Endeavour Concept watches.Pioneer Tourbillon Concept AventurineThe first of the three is perhaps the most sporty of the bunch, although I wouldn’t go on a wild adventure with it.
