Baume & Mercier introduces Clifton 1830 - Monochrome Watches
Baume & Mercier have recently launched an entirely new collection, named Clifton, and yesterday they introduced the top line model of the collection, the new Clifton 1830.?This is a lovely?dress watch, with classic?looks, ?in red gold and with a proprietary manual wind movement. The Clifton 1830 comes in a red gold case, measuring 42 mm in diameter. The beefy case has lovely classic lugs and shows?more tasty details, like the applied numerals and stick markers,?the blue small seconds hand and more. One thing that I particularly like: it’s got a proprietary movement delivering 90 hours of power reserve. The 90 hours of power, that caliber 7381 holds,?are stored in two main s
The Elections... for the Watch of the Year and the GPHG that is! - Monochrome Watches
While the race for presidency in the USA is going on until the last minute, we’ll of course focus… on watches! And in the world of watches, we also have elections. Just two weeks ago I attended the gala award ceremony for the election of the Watch of the Year, organised by our friends of Chronos24 in Poland. And this Thursday, when we finally know who’s going to?be the new?tenant of?the White House, is the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve – a.k.a the 2016 Edition of the GPHG. While the first becomes a bit international due to several international jury members – including yours truly –?the latter can best be compared to the Oscars in the world of movies. In Warsaw, Poland, the good folks of Chronos24 hosted the Watch of the Year 2016 gala event together with partners like Esquire Poland, Porsche,?the Polish Business Roundtable Club, Manager MBA Magazine, and the Polish Watch and Clocks Collectors Club. In the months before the event, the jury,
Introducing: Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Limited Edition
Longines is renowned for its dedication to sports, so it’s no surprise that as the leading partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and Official Timekeeper for both the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and the FIS World Championships, the brand chose to celebrate the upcoming 48th FIS Alpine Ski World Championship in Saalbach, Austria, by launching a special Ski Edition of the Longines Conquest Chronograph. While, in essence, it is the same Conquest Chronograph model that emerged in 2023 as a result of a long-awaited and welcomed update to the collection, this edition features subtle decorative enhancements that appeal to enthusiasts drawn to its sporty look. Plus, it’s the same watch Marco Odermatt sports this season, so it comes with a story to tell. The new Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Edition features a robust 42mm stainless steel case with 100m water resistance, complemented by a black ceramic insert on the tachymeter bezel and a sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-
Introducing: IWC Pilot's Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Lake Tahoe
It is widely known that IWC has experience with ceramic watches since it was the first brand to release a timepiece made of zirconium oxide (the real name for ceramic) in 1985 with the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar. In recent years, the Schaffhausen-based brand has been playing a lot with colours, releasing Top Gun models in black (of course), beige (Mojave), green (Woodland), blue (Oceana) and white, with the Lake Tahoe editions, until now available with a chronograph movement or a perpetual calendar. Now, the concept returns in a simpler, smaller and more accessible watch based on the Mark XX range, with the new Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Lake Tahoe IW328104.What we’re looking at here is essentially a “Tahoed” version of the Mark XX, the latest evolution in the classic Mark series of IWC. As such, you won’t be surprised to see that most of the specifications of this new compact Lake Tahoe are shared with the standard steel models, as well as the li
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar in pink gold - Monochrome Watches
More then a year ago, in June 2011, Vacheron Constantin launched the most complicated watch in the Overseas collection.?The first Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar?came in a titanium/steel case, one of the three choices of metals that Vacheron Constantin offers. Yesterday VC launched another version of the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar, but now in pink gold.?Because the photo of the VC Overseas Chronograph with deep blue dial, that we introduced yesterday, got so many positive responses, we show you the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar (or QP from Quantieme Perpetuel like the French say), in exactly the same angle. A ‘dramatic’ view on a stunning timepiece! Ad - Scroll to continue with article To be honest, usually I’m ?a purist and therefore no fan of mixing styles. Since the Overseas is a chic, elegant and sporty styled
