TAG Heuer Carrera - The Story of an Iconic 55-Year-Old Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
This year, TAG Heuer is celebrating the 55th anniversary of its most iconic watch, the Carrera. Born in 1963, designed by Jack Heuer himself to answer the needs of motorsports pilots, named after one of the most legendary races (the Carrera Panamericana), the recipe was simple: a clean, uncluttered, ultra-legible and reliable instrument to measure time and average speed during races. The gentleman driver’s watch personified. Since then, the Heuer Carrera and the ensuing TAG Heuer Carrera never ceased to evolve, in terms of designs, materials or mechanics, but the main objective was maintained:? a tool for racing drivers. Together with Catherine Eberle-Devaux, TAG Heuer’s Heritage Director, MONOCHROME WATCHES will trace the history of this legendary chronograph watch, the Carrera.Jack Heuer’s ChildSince the creation of the brand, back in 1860, Heuer specialised in stopwatches and chronographs. Report - 5 Unusual Things I Discovered When Visiting Raketa in Russia
Not so long ago we talked to you about Raketa and a pretty cool watch the brand launched, a tribute to the famous Polar exploration watches done in the early 1970s. But that wasn’t all. With a flight ticket in my hand and Back in the U.S.SR. from The Beatles in my headphones (I know, total cliche), I flew to Saint Petersburg and visited the Raketa movement manufacture. I’ve visited well over 40 watch manufactures in my career, mostly in Switzerland and Germany… But nothing that can compare to what I saw in Russia. A truly unique experience, an eye-opener, fascinating, unusual, emotional, nostalgic, touching, sometimes slightly melancholic but always human.?Raketa…The Raketa Watch Factory, founded by Emperor Peter the Great in 1721, is the oldest factory still active today in Russia. Created first to cut semi-precious stones to adorn the Royal family’s palaces (and then known as the Imperial Lapidary Factory), it was, under the Soviet era, transformed into

Omega now introduces an overall upgrade of the Prestige with six different families, five different sizes, and four different movements, all with improved functionality and style. The De Ville Prestige has never been better and has never looked better! We’ll talk you through all the details of this major update of the De Ville collection.THE ORIGINSThe name De Ville appeared on the dial of Omega watches after the introduction of the brand's trilogy of professional watches (1957). Next to these professional instrument watches, De Ville referred to the continuation of the dressier heritage of the Seamaster; the Seamasters meant for the city or De Ville in French. Yet, there’s something fascinating about the?Knights of the Round Table watches by?Roger Dubuis – the first one here and the second one here. Episode 3 of the series doesn’t disappoint either and reveals an incredible level of craftsmanship… really! The?Knights of the Round Table has become a recurring theme for Roger Dubuis – a quite rare one though.
