Hands-On - A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Outsize Date Silver Dial (price)
Coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the revival of A. Lange & Sohne, a new argente version of the Saxonia Outsize Date was released in December 2020 to sit alongside the existing black dial models of 2018. Identical in specifications to the 2018 Outsize Date, the novelty here was a new silvery-coloured dial. What might have been interpreted as a cosmetic touch marked a significant change in mood as the Outsize Date navigated back into more classic waters. Available in 18k white or pink gold cases, we were able to spend some time with the pink gold model. The Saxonia Outsize Date is all about symmetry and minimalism, having a superbly balanced dial.Saxonia LoreAs all of our readers steeped in A. While some of the heavyweight brands entered the dive watch market in the mid-1950s (Blancpain, or Omega), Rado waited f

With the end of the year fast approaching, we’ve decided to look at the best models launched by the most productive manufacturers in 2021. Not all brands were equal this year, with most of them playing conservative, either by releasing only evolutions of existing collections or new colours/materials, either by releasing a very limited amount of watches. This wasn’t the case for Patek Philippe, as the brand managed to create the buzz (yes, that Tiffany stamped dial… and more), but also amazed by creating entirely new models or by having some major technical innovations. A decade later, the Septantieme showcased the brand's expertise in movement manufacturing and aesthetic design. It was the first Reverso to feature an extra-large case, an 8-day power reserve, and a beautifully finished white gold movement visible through the reverse side. Fast forward to 2021, the Reverso Nonantieme marked the collection's 90th anniversary, and this year, it returns in a striking new variation, the Reverso Tribute Nonantieme Enamel.?This newest edition of the Reverso Tribute Nonantieme maintains the same 49.4mm x 29.9mm x 11.72mm pink gold case, adorned with the signature gadroons above and below the dial.
