Hands-on - A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, celebrating the 200th anniversary of F.A. Lange (live pics & price) - Monochrome Watches
This year was quite special for the magnificent manufacture A. Lange & Sohne, celebrating the 200th birthday of its founder, Ferdinand Adolph Lange (see the history of watchmaking in Glashutte here). 2 first watches had been introduced, 2 special editions dedicated to this event, the 1815 Limited Edition for the 200th Anniversary of F.A. Lange with black dial and the 1815 Limited Edition for the 200th Anniversary of F.A. Lange in honey gold. Naturally, the 1815 was the appropriate model and the pinnacle of this year of celebration is another special edition of a 1815 watch – and not the simplest one. Here is the?A. First Look: The 38mm Hublot Big Bang Integrated Time Only Collection
Following decades of Big Bang domination in extravagant, angular cases in all shapes and sizes, in 2020, Hublot introduced its first Big Bang with a fully integrated metal bracelet. Known as the Big Bang Integrated because of its integrated bracelet and materials, we’ve already seen?40mm cases with openworked dials, and time-and-date displays. Going back to its roots, the latest Big Bang Integrated sub-collection debuts in a more compact, unisex 38mm case with closed dials, represented by six models in titanium, King Gold and ceramic.Described by CEO Ricardo Guadalupe as a “classic”, the Big Bang Integrated 38mm is closer in spirit to the Classic Fusion forefather that put Hublot on the map in the mid-1980s and inspired the birth of the Big Bang in 2005. While its dimensions are more compact, the Big Bang Integrated is still a Big Bang through and through with its resilient 100m water-resistant case, its rubber composite insert sandwiched between the case middle and b
Comparing the old and new IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar - Monochrome-Watches
We at Monochrome obviously love IWC watches. Especially when it comes to their iconic pieces. The IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is such a piece. First introduced in 2003, this watch has been subject to minor changes every couple of years, without dramatically changing its recognizable identity. So, it's now time for us to compare the brand new 2015 edition with the previous version, and to see what changes can been seen – or maybe be unseen?Throwback - The Perpetual Calendar by IWC WatchesIWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Limited Edition in stainless steelHow did the perpetual calendar by IWC get its iconic status? When you are trying to understand why a watch gained so much fame, you have to understand its historical importance. In the case of the IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar, this importance was not actually gained by a Portuguese watch, but rather by the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar, a watch that rather shocked the industry. This Da Vinci Ref. 3570 was first introduced

Ulysse Nardin is no stranger to collaborations, and for its latest Diver, it teams up with Norwegian outdoor sportswear brand Norr?na to produce the Diver Norr?na Arctic Night. Sheathed in dark sustainable materials – or at least materials with a lower carbon footprint – the Diver Norr?na Arctic Night is a limited edition of 29 pieces and comes with a GoreTex? Pro Norr?na jacket to accompany you on your next Arctic adventure.United x SustainabilityMany watch brands have jumped on the sustainability sledge these days and want the world to know they are doing their bit to fight global warming. Long associated with marine chronometers, Ulysse Nardin’s portfolio has always steered on a nautical path with classical renditions like the Marine Torpilleur or more contemporar
