Watches NEWS
Introducing: The New Onyx Edition of the MB&F LM Flying T
MB&F undertook its maiden voyage into the galaxy of women’s watches with the launch of its Legacy Machine Flying T in 2019. After 14 years of masterminding complex watches for men, Max Busser’s Legacy Machine Flying T flaunted all the attributes associated with MB&F watches but in a more feminine format – or even a very feminine format when teaming up with Bulgari. For 2024, the watch shifts gear and returns in more unisex attire with a sleek black onyx dial plate and an 18k yellow gold case without diamonds. The latest Legacy Machine Flying T could be classified as the black-tie version of this model. With no diamonds highlighting the case, the model is closer in spirit to the non-diamond-set Flying T Red Gold of 2020 with its guilloche dial plate. Considering that many of MB&F’s watches are too large for men with smaller wrists, the more restrained dimensions and toned-down styling of the Flying T make it a viable option for both sexes. A
First Look: The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Gets a Classic Blue dial
Born in the mid-1950s as a watch designed for people working in magnetic environments (hence its name), the IWC Ingenieur is mostly remembered in its 1976 shape when IWC released the SL Jumbo reference 1832, designed by Gerald Genta using his classic integrated luxury sports watch concept. It took some years for IWC to finally come back with a modern iteration, but in 2023, the Schaffhausen-based brand released this: the Ingenieur Automatic 40. Following a titanium version and three stainless steel editions in black, silver and aqua blue, IWC now adds a new dial colour to the collection, a classic dark blue – a.k.a the most expected tone of the category. We’re not here to re-do the entire history of the collection or to recap all the details behind the return of the classic IWC Ingenieur. For that, you can consult our in-depth article and video here. What’s important to know is this: in 2023, IWC released the long-anticipated Ingenieur watch in its most classic shape,
IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition Mojave Desert IW389103 - Review & Price
Feeling bold today? Good. Now meet a pilot's watch with camouflaged hands, a day-date indication, a ceramic case and a normal-sized crown. Except for the triangle at 12 o'clock (and yes… a few other things to be honest), there's not much that makes this an actual Pilot's watch. But is it any good? We took IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition Mojave Desert and wore it on the wrist to let you know! The one consistent activity in the history of IWC is the company's mission to build precise, reliable and functional mechanical watches for current and future generations. Now, that is a very sensible thing. These values are best shown in the Mark XVIII Pilot's watches and the Portugieser collection. Clean designs, functional complications and easily loveable for everyone - watch connoisseurs and novices alike. Ad - Scroll to continue with article So where
Panerai Luminor Marina Fibratech 44mm PAM01163 - Specs & Price
Panerai's ‘Laboratorio de Idee’ has been a platform to explore and innovate regarding materials, today a field of expertise for the brand. The latest addition to the portfolio of high-tech materials is Fibratech, made from mineral fibres produced by the fusion of basalt rock. Meet the Panerai Luminor Marina Fibratech?PAM01163.Fibratech?is a composite material based on basalt rock fibres. Thin layers are superimposed in a precise orientation and then consolidated through a process where pressure and temperature are controlled. The matrix to bind this reinforcement together is a polymer. This creates a non-homogenous matte grey appearance with random pattern depending on the cut. From a technical perspective, Fribatech is 60% lighter than steel, resilient and highly resistant to corrosion. An appropriate material for such a large diver’s watch. Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Pequenos Segundos // Review, Price
Cuba isn't the first place that comes to mind when you think about watchmaking. Cuervo y Sobrinos is arguably the only luxury watch brand with true Latin roots, born in Havana's San Rafael Avenue. Now headquartered in Le Noirmont, Switzerland, the brand combines contemporary Swiss craftsmanship with design inspiration from Havana's golden years. The Historiador Peque?os Segundos was inspired by a vintage company piece from 1946, but also carries a modern vibe with both classic and edgy design elements. Let's look at a deceptively conservative piece that celebrates the Latin spirit. ?BACKGROUNDFounded in 1882, Cuervo y Sobrinos quickly became known for both fine jewellery and watches. The name is derived from Armando R¨ªo Cuervo, who in 1900 worked with his family to expand his uncle's company – Cuervo y Sobrinos translates to Cuervo and Nephews. In 1920, the brand expanded to Europe, networking in Pforzheim, Germany and on Rue Mezlay in Paris. A production site would be set up a d
