Baume & Mercier introduces Clifton 1830 - Monochrome Watches
Baume & Mercier have recently launched an entirely new collection, named Clifton, and yesterday they introduced the top line model of the collection, the new Clifton 1830.?This is a lovely?dress watch, with classic?looks, ?in red gold and with a proprietary manual wind movement. The Clifton 1830 comes in a red gold case, measuring 42 mm in diameter. The beefy case has lovely classic lugs and shows?more tasty details, like the applied numerals and stick markers,?the blue small seconds hand and more. One thing that I particularly like: it’s got a proprietary movement delivering 90 hours of power reserve. The 90 hours of power, that caliber 7381 holds,?are stored in two main s
SIHH 2015 - Panerai Radiomir Firenze 3 days Accacio 47mm PAM00604 - Specs & Price - Monochrome-Watches
You've seen the brand-new Mare Nostrum, and we showed you the CarboTech and here is the third instalment of the SIHH novelties by Panerai, the rather interesting Radiomir Firenze 3 Days Acciaio. It isn't highly complicated, nor does it come a brandspanking new material but a rather unique look, harking back to the birthplace of the brand. Here is the Panerai Radiomir Firenze 3 days Accacio 47mm PAM00604 with its fully engraved case in stainless steel (and yes, this is quite an interesting feature).Florence, Italy, 1936. The birth year and location of a now highly collected brand called Panerai. The dimensions of the very first Radiomir watch are reflected into the very latest. Although the brand is now part of Richemont Group and relocated in Neuchatel, the design of the timepieces is still very reminiscent of yesteryears creations. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
IWC Portugieser Chronograph Classic Bucherer Blue Editions Red Gold IW3903 (Specs & Price)
When you are one of the largest watch retailers in the world (and the largest in Europe), you can use this leverage to create your own limited edition watches. This is what Bucherer has been doing now for several years, with the Blue Editions – you probably guessed that all of these watches have a specific blue dial (see here for instance). Today, the watch retailer is presenting a special edition of the?IWC Portugieser Chronograph Classic, in red gold and, of course, with a blue dial. This new 88-piece limited edition of the?IWC Portugieser Chronograph Classic for Bucherer is obviously no more than a visual update of an existing watch, with a new case material and a new dial colour to be precise – which doesn’t prevent us to be pleased by this overall good looking watch. The base used is identical to the watch we reviewed extensively here, a watch launched in 2013 and that has been slightly revamped in 2017 (basically with a cleaner dial). It is named “Classic
Weekly Watch Photo - Vianney Halter Antiqua Perpetual Calendar - Monochrome Watches
After seeing Vianney Halter’s magnificent April Fools joke, I just had to share some photos of one of the most beautiful timepieces of all times, the Antiqua Perpetual Calendar. Not only Vianney Halter came up with a April Fools joke, the guys from Watchonista?also created a magnificent April Fools joke for Hublot. But now back to the steam-punk creation of Vianney Halter… the Antiqua! Ad - Scroll to continue with article For this purpose I borrowed photos made by Suitbert who posted his photos on The PuristS Pro (here) back in 2007. The above photo shows the side of Vianney Halter’s daring creation. His photos show the superb level of finish, not only on the movement, but also on all parts of the case, dials and hands.Although the Antiqua sports kind of a funky case design, in basic it is a round watch. Its case back shows a mystery rotor, made
Hands-On - Grand Seiko Elegance Spring SBGW283 Summer SBGW285
Like most Japanese folk, Grand Seiko has always displayed a close affinity to nature. Dials inspired by the changing seasons,?the texture of tree bark, the twinkling stars of a?night sky or even the delicate colour of cherry blossom petals, are recurring themes at Grand Seiko. The setting of Grand Seiko's manufacture is intentionally studied to inspire the takumi (master artisans), and most Grand Seiko mechanical watches (not Spring Drive calibres) are crafted in the Shizukuishi Studio located in a forest in the Iwate prefecture, home to the imposing Mount Iwate. Two new references with textured dials inspired by nature, the SBGW283 Spring and the SBGW285 Summer, join Grand Seiko's Elegance collection. A compact, elegant and disarmingly simple hand-wound, time-only watch, the SBGWXXX series is packed with refined details that abide by the tenets laid down in the Grammar of Design by Grand Seiko designer TaroTanaka.Subtle TransitionsUnlike the Western world's somewhat arbitrary four sea
