My traveling companions - Monochrome Watches
I’m just back –?in one piece – from a three week trip to Jordan and the Egyptian Sina? desert, and here are?some photos that I made during my trip. We planned a trip to Jordan and were considering to visit Syria and/or Egypt depending on the available time and travel possibilities. From the Jordan southern coast it was a short boat trip to Nuweiba in Egypt and the reefs in that area are just great, so time for some diving. On this?trip I had two watches with me:?the IWC Pilot Watch Chronograph (ref. 3717) that I?also had on my wrist a few weeks earlier, when I?visited New York. The other one was my all time favorite vacation watch, the Citizen Automatic Diver.?I’m gonna spare you all the travel stories, since?the?pictures will tell the story for me. I have to add that the historical city of?Petra is very, very impressive and well worth a visit. Another thing you may not miss is taking a plunge into the Dead Sea. That’s a funny experience! Introducing New Omega De Ville Prestige Models for 2020 (Price)
There’s far more to Omega than just its iconic sports watches, the well-known Speedmaster and Seamaster. Even though the brand has slightly simplified its offering over the years, two other collections, both focused on elegance, need to be mentioned. First is the Constellation, timepieces inspired by the brand’s precision models of the past. Second is the De Ville, which can be defined as the brand’s classic, elegant collection, including ladies’ models and sleek, refined watches for men. Today, the timeless, slightly 1960s-inspired De Ville Prestige collection is enlarged with 5 new references, which come with redesigned dials and a luxurious combination of materials.?The De Ville Prestige is Omega’s collection for those who want something classic, elegant and restrained. Proportions are compact, dials are detailed, refined yet timeless, movements are relatively simple but still in line with Omega’s devotion to precision and reliability. The De Vill
Six cool pilot's watches introduced in 2021 - buying guide, specs, price
Our mind likes to put labels on things, categorize items and events and determine if something is a risk or not. Stemming from millennia of evolution, this is still instinctive behaviour to us and subconsciously applied on a daily basis. Using the specifications and features of a watch, we categorize watches and like to distinguish a dive watch from a pilot’s watch or a field watch. Even though backed up by the world's largest luxury conglomerates, the LV Watch Prize aims to become a biennial prize that celebrates the creative talent, savoir-faire and audacity of the independent watchmaking industry, to support and encourage artisans and entrepreneurs and accompany future generations. Following the announcement in December of the five finalists and jury members, it is now time to reveal the winner of the mentorship, in the name of Ra¨²l Pages and his RP1 Regulateura Detente watch.?It might sound surprising at first to talk about an independent watchmaking initiative backed up by a group of the size of Louis Vuitton. Spotted - The ice blue PRX Powermatic 80 Tissot is quiet about
The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 has been a smashing success for about two years now. Ever since it was first launched, people embraced it with open arms. Here was a luxury stainless steel sports watch with very good looks, solid mechanics, a very decent price tag, and above all; it was and still is widely available! And although Tissot doesn’t always deliver what we want or expect, the PRX collection is home to quite some colourful and mechanical variations! One new colour we spotted online and apparently on people’s wrists just now is a very tasty ice-blue PRX Powermatic 80! And believe it or not, for the time being, Tissot itself is dead-silent about it. Nevertheless, it’s news, it’s available, so we’re covering it!To be perfectly clear, besides the dial colour, absolutely nothing has changed between this one and all the dial variations that came before it. It still has a 40mm by 10.8mm stainless steel case with the very familiar 1970s integrated design. Th
