The Longines Record Heritage continues the celebrations
Longines is celebrating 190 years of watchmaking with a selection of very nice watches. First and foremost, we had the return of the Longines UltraChron, an iconic high-frequency watch. Then shortly after the summer, the refined Longines Master Collection 190th Anniversary was launched. To once more bring attention to the celebration of almost two centuries, Longines has just pulled the covers of a rather dashing retro chronograph. Known as the Longines Record Heritage, part of the new Record collection, it showcases a delectable retro design that seems to come straight out of the 1940s or 1950s. And once again, it reaffirms Longines’ excellent ability to look into its archives and select some very fine watches as inspiration for its present-day portfolio!Auguste Agassiz founded Longines in 1832, which is no surprise for those who already did the maths based on the 190th anniversary mentioned in the intro. The winged hourglass manufacturer can look back on a long and storied hist
The 2020 Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Azzuro Power Control & Chrono (Price)
Chopard has been a loyal partner to the historic Mille Miglia endurance rally since 1988. Every year, Chopard’s Mille Miglia collection returns in limited editions and has given birth to countless sports watches inspired by classic cars. Although the 2020 edition of the rally is postponed to late October in light of the current situation, Chopard now unveils this year's editions: two models highlighted by elegant ‘Azzurro’ dials of a steely blue hue which contrasts beautifully with ‘Mille Miglia red’ touches. The 2020 Chopard Mille Miglia collection comprises the steel Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chrono and the Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Power Control, an automatic time-and-date watch in steel and pink gold, with a power reserve indicator inspired by an automotive fuel gauge. Introducing: Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake
After the Dragon, it will soon be time to celebrate another important animal of the Chinese Zodiac, the snake, an animal associated with wisdom, charm and transformation. Since 2016, Hublot has been commemorating the Chinese New Year with artfully rendered special editions of the Spirit of Big Bang – such as the Dragon-themed model of last year. As you will have guessed by now, the brand is now releasing a snake-themed version of its tonneau-shaped watch to celebrate the Year of the Snake. For this special edition Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph, the snake theme extends from the dial to the case and strap. Fashioned out of micro-blasted and polished ceramic, it is fully rendered in black with the exception of an impressively detailed, gold-plated miniature snake coiling around the counters of its sapphire dial. The openworked hands and markers are finished in matching golden colour, and the Hublot logo is featured on the crystal. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Only Watch 2015 - Unique Chopard Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Mark Webber - Monochrome-Watches
When it comes to racing-oriented watches, Chopard has an interesting legitimacy to offer to watch lovers. Besides the Mille Miglia collection (that has been renewed this year with a quite cool design and in-house movements), the brand also has another highly masculine and robust collection, the Superfast. This chronograph has already been the base for a specific edition dedicated to Porsche and the 24h of Le Mans. For Only Watch 2015, Chopard will donate a unique edition of the?Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 made together with?Le Mans driver Mark Webber. The?Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 is not a total stranger to us, as earlier this?year, Chopard came with?an edition dedicated to the Porsche 919 that won Le Mans and designed with racing-legend Jacky Ickx?and last year,?Chopard already introduced an edition of this watch, also celebrating the partnership with Porsche Racing. This year, the Superfast Chrono (we?previously introduced the?entire Superfast collection)?comes in a unique edition
Andersen Geneve Tempus Terrae - a special edition to commemorate Louis Cottier's WorldTime watch - Specs & price - Monochrome-Watches
There a few watches that are as?practical as a world timer, a watch able to give you in a single look at the dial the time of all the main cities around the world (and your local time too). In a world of growing globalization, these timepieces are now seen as extremely useful – but this was not the case when invented. This complication is credited to the famous watchmaker Louis Cottier with the highly collectible Patek Philippe Ref. 2523, a beauty that Andersen Geneva commemorates with its latest?special edition, the?Tempus Terrae.Let’s be very clear with you, the?Andersen Geneve Tempus Terrae is a sumptuous piece of horology. When we first saw it during Baselworld 2015, we just felt in love with this watch – and especially our editor-in-chief Frank, known to have a thing?for World-Timer watches. The beauty of the?Andersen Geneve Tempus Terrae comes from its unique shape, its engine-turned dial and its complication. If you’re into vintage watches and rare birds,
