The New Bulgari Serpenti Misteriosi And Monete Catene Secret Watches (Live Pics & Price) - Monochrome Watches
Among the six novelties Bulgari will unveil during Geneva Watch Days are four extraordinary high jewellery secret watches. The brand's famous mascot, the Serpenti, snakes back into the limelight decked out in gemstones and powered by the smallest mechanical movement on the market. Another iconic Bulgari design is the incorporation of ancient Roman coins into jewellery and watch designs, and the Roman brand releases two secret Monete Catene watches attached to the wrist with supple chain bracelets, also equipped with Bulgari's miniature Piccolissimo calibre BVL 100.Last year Bulgari had a treat for fans of the Serpenti and launched a collection of Serpenti Misteriosi high jewellery watches powered by the brand's tiny, weeny Piccolissimo mechanical movement. Taking advantage of the brand's formidable know-how in developing ultra-thin movements for the Octo Finissimo collection, the Piccolissimo calibre BVL 100 measures just 12.30mm across, is 2.50mm thick and weighs 1.30 grams. Introducing The New Hamilton Jazzmaster Skeleton Gets With New Sizes And Colours
The charm of a mechanical watch mostly lies in the fact it is a completely analogue experience. It’s the sensation of a rotor whizzing away as you move or wind a watch by hand, to power a mechanism of gears and levers to tell time the old-fashioned way that excites us the most. Usually, that spectacle is viewed only from the back, if at all, but in some cases, you get a glimpse of a watch’s inner workings from the front as well. One such watch is the Jazzmaster Skeleton, a long-standing model in the ever-popular Jazzmaster range by Hamilton. The new Jazzmaster Skeleton balances the classique aesthetics of the casual yet dressy watch and jazzes it up (pardon the pun) with new dial designs and colours, as well as a new 36mm size. The cases look virtually identical in design to the previous editions of the Jazzmaster Skeleton (and Open Heart for that matter) yet Hamilton has slightly reworked them and now introduces it in a reduced 36mm alongside the existing 40mm size. Vario World War I Trench Watch, Now Launching on Kickstarter
When you think of throwback military watches, the World War II era usually comes to mind. At the high end, there are watches like the Breguet Type XX, while Hanhart and many others offer more accessible counterparts. If you're looking for something super affordable that doesn't cut corners, Hamilton offers a wide range of Khaki field watches. Some go back to the mid-1930s, a time between the wars, like the Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935, but few venture into the first war like Vario's World War I Trench Watch. Period correct styling with plenty of dial and strap options make this an intriguing proposition, now available on Kickstarter with affordable prices in tow. Today, we take a closer look at a watch that stands out from the crowd.backgroundThe dawn of men's wristwatches started in World War I when pocket watches proved to be too unwieldly in combat conditions. Time had to be immediately accessible while both hands were occupied, and a wrist-worn watch was the answer. These
Baselworld day three - Monochrome Watches
Another interesting day at Baselworld… and besides several meetings and running into some of the very best watchmakers on planet earth during a book-signing, it was also time to finally get my new MIH Watch!Today the book 12 Faces of Time was officially released with a book-signing. Elizabeth Doerr, writer, and Ralf Baumgarten, photographer, really did an excellent job. Not only is the book great, later more about that, the book-signing was one of the most interesting events during the Baselworld fair. At least for me as an admirer of independent watchmakers.12 Faces of Time is actually a piece of art about the art of watchmaking. It’s very stylish, designed beautifully and Ralf Baumgarten’s photography perfectly suit the style of the interviews. This perfect match between the style of interviews and photos is something that absolutely adds to the joy of reading this book. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Montblanc Heritage Monopusher Chronograph Steel Salmon // Review
A new edition of the Monopusher Chronograph in stainless steel with a salmon dial joins Montblanc's highly successful Heritage family. Inspired by historical Minerva wristwatches from the 1940s and 1950s, the Heritage collection can boast true vintage credentials, not faux ones like so many watches spawned during the ongoing fever for retro. This latest combination of a steel case and a salmon dial offers the look and feel of the past but features contemporary sports watch dimensions and an automatic movement that won't break the bank. Background of the Heritage CollectionMontblanc's classic Heritage collection, with early models like the Heritage Spirit Pulsograph or the Meisterstuck Heritage Perpetual Calendar and Moonphase, was originally launched in 2014 when Jerome Lambert took the helm of the brand. Lambert's strategy for this line was to offer a wide range of complications at affordable prices; at one point in its career, the Heritage Perpetual Calendar was one of the most afford
