Introducing: The Full-Gold AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin
We’ve talked about the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin on multiple occasions already, and for obvious reasons. When first presented as a prototype watch named RD#2, it was the world’s thinnest perpetual calendar wristwatch, with an impressive 6.2mm thickness. Despite Bulgari re-gaining the title a year later, this Audemars Piguet remains truly impressive and is now offered in an appealing titanium edition with a smoky-blue dial. But a new limited edition of this watch (26586BA) has just been presented and it is a polarizing one, in a full gold attire and available exclusively in Greater China.?Technically speaking, this new limited edition of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin retains the same specifications as previous titanium/platinum or full-titanium editions – the weight of the watch will be, of course, completely different. As such, we’re talking about a classic RO design with its signature octagonal bezel and 8 white gold studs, yet with

First Look: The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Green
IWC is busy this year rolling out new iterations of its Ingenieur, a collection that underwent a major revamp in 2023 to resurface with its Gerald Genta heritage intact. The watch we're introducing today comes with a fun story involving actor Brad Pitt and the upcoming movie F1. What was initially a prop watch for Pitt's character has inspired the real deal: a special 1,000-piece edition of the Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a green dial.Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Shot with actors driving real race cars in real Grand Prix races, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), an F1 driver, has retired after an accident. Team owner Ruben (Javier Bardem) encourages Sonny to return to the track to mentor a rookie driver for the Apex Grand Prix Team. During the film, Sonny wears a 1976-inspired Ingenieur SL 1832 with a bespoke green dial. A collaboration between IWC, Pitt and Cloister Watch Company, the prop watch is now a reality. Manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has dedicated two limited-edition Pilot's watches to Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, the renowned constructor of Formula One cars based in the UK. As the team's official engineering partner since 2013, IWC exploits the many parallels that exist between motor sport's premier competition and high-end watchmaking. Kitted out with the black and turquoise livery of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, two limited-edition Pilot's watches - a perpetual calendar and a chronograph - join IWC's line-up of aviator models.Editor’s note: Yes, indeed, at IWC a Pilot’s watch doesn’t only mean “flying tool” but refers to pilots in general, of the airborne and track kind. Previously reserved to the Ingenieur line, with the integrated bracelet and shaped case, the new AMG editions are no longer based on this collection – the Ingenieur of today is dedicated to classic motor racing, not to technical, modern F1. This is the role of the Pilot&
The 2020 Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection
Introduced in 1992, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection has always been the classic model of the brand, with a focus on technical rigour, certification and visual restraint. Its name comes from the fact that it was the first of Jaeger-LeCoultre's collections to benefit from its pioneering ‘1000 Hours Control’ certification. In constant evolution since its launch, today the Maison unveils its four proposals for 2020. So, let’s take a look at the 2020 Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection. This new Master Control Collection has to be seen as a subtle evolution, a modernisation of the range with a casual twist, rather than a complete overhaul. As many of you know, its name comes from JLC’s own ‘1000 Hours Control’ certification, a series of tests on the cased-up watch (not just its movement) to guarantee its perfect execution and its precision. It is one of the most stringent testing protocols in the industry today and every model in this
