Hands-On Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Diamonds 15210OR
Audemars Piguet's Code 11.59 collection was unveiled in 2019 and marked the brand’s first important product launch in 20 years. Comprised of six models, 13 references, and three of in-house calibres, its distinctive 41mm case design was, as the brand pointed out, consciously thought for both men and women. Presented in January 2022, these two gem-set models blanketed with more than 1,000 brilliant-cut diamonds on the case are clearly earmarked for women and marked a first for the Code 11.59 collection.Diamond paved gold cases and dialsThe complex architecture of the 41mm case, with its octagonal middle case sandwiched between a thin bezel and round caseback, sparkles with the light of 473 brilliant-cut diamonds (~2.69 carats). The most salient feature of the case is the octagonal central container that pays homage to the iconic octagonal bezel of the Royal Oak. Viewed from the side, you can how the floating lugs are hollowed and welded to the bezel module. Every surface is paved
Bvlgari Octo Roma Emerald Grande Sonnerie Unique Piece - Hands-On
An opulent marriage of Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie, Bvlgari’s colossally complex Octo Roma Emerald Grande Sonnerie is embellished with enough gemstones to pave a Roman road. Equipped with a four-gong Westminster chime with automatic winding regulated by a tourbillon, this impressive Grande et Petite Sonnerie is Bvlgari’s most complex timepiece to date. Assembled over nine months by one master watchmaker, it will not come as a surprise that this is a unique piece. As one of the few watchmakers capable of producing a Grande Sonnerie mechanism that sounds the time “au passage” Bvlgari adds its voluptuous Italian touch with a stunning high jewellery setting of bright green Zambian emeralds and diamonds.Chiming complicationsChiming complications, in all their modalities, are not new to Bvlgari. Although new generations will be more familiar with the record-breaking 2016 Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater or the stunning Diva Finissima Minute Repeater, Bvlgari c
Introducing The Petermann Bedat Reference 2941 Split-Seconds (Live Pics)
Ga?l Petermann and Florian Bedat created their independent watchmaking brand in 2017. In 2020, the dynamic duo of talented young watchmakers received a well-deserved industry accolade, taking home the Horological Revelation Prize at the prestigious GPHG for their superbly crafted 1967 Deadbeat Seconds. Petermann Bedat now moves one step further into complexity and high-end watchmaking with a magnificent monopusher split-seconds chronograph with a jumping minute counter. Meet the Petermann Bedat Reference 2941.If the 1967 Deadbeat Seconds was already fairly complex, Ga?l Petermann and Florian Bedat have not chosen an easy road for their second movement. The rattrapante (or split-seconds) chronograph is widely considered to be one of the most elaborate and difficult to produce complications in mechanical watchmaking. Rattrapante chronographs feature two superimposed seconds hands that time two events of different lengths simultaneously. One hand (the rattrapante) can be stopped to read a
Longines Master Collection Moonphase 42mm Blue Dial - Review, Price
Offering well-designed watches from a reputed Swiss company at reasonable prices seems to be a winning strategy for Longines. Introduced in 2019, the Longines Master Collection Moonphase watch continues this story, with a policy of keeping Longines in the price segment that it dominates (700 to 3,500 Swiss francs) – even with complications. Available in two sizes (40mm and 42mm), the moon phase model come with a range of different dials, including one with diamond indices. Today, we'll be looking at the 42mm Master Collection Moonphase with a handsome blue sunray dial, the most contemporary-looking of the lot with its on-trend colour scheme and simple but elegant dial. The Master Collection was launched in 2005, a collection of elegant classics with various complications ranging in complexity. Unlike the extremely popular Heritage Collection that references specific vintage models and revisits them with an earnest respect for the past, the Master Collection references traditional
Introducing: The Green/Rubber TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 44mm
Released in 2020, the Carrera Chronograph 44mm marked the revamp of the collection, which now comprises various models ranging from classic to vintage-inspired, and sporty with this larger model. Equipped with the in-house Heuer 02 movement, it will form next to the sleeker 42mm the cornerstone of the modern Carrera line. When first presented by TAG Heuer, 4 editions were at the heart of this sub-collection, which included black and blue versions with matching ceramic bezels, as well as a green version, yet with steel bezel. But it’s now been replaced by a new version, that not only brings a green ceramic bezel but also a new rubber strap, unseen yet on other models.Even if it is the direct descendant of a watch born in 1963 – indeed, it is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year – the Carrera Chronograph 44mm is all about modernity. Surely, it boasts some classic Carrera design elements, such as the faceted lugs and the overall sharp design of its case and dial, a
