A. Lange & Sohne Cabaret Tourbillon Handwerkskunst
For 30 potential collectors, the return in July 2021 of the A. Lange & Sohne’s Cabaret Tourbillon was a moment of celebration. Not only did the discontinued Cabaret Tourbillon stage a comeback – equipped with the world’s first hacking tourbillon – but it also staged its return in a lavish Handwerkskunst edition, the apogee of A. Lange & Sohne‘s artistic and artisanal skills. Let’s take a closer look at the rich finissage of this uber-exclusive platinum edition rigorously executed by hand by Lange’s team of skilled engravers and enamellers.?A Lange & Sohne introduced the Cabaret in 1997. As well as being Lange’s first rectangular watch (not to be confused with the Arkade), it also bore a whimsical name that was a far cry from the august Saxon spirit of the reputable brand that put Glashutte on the world’s watchmaking map. The non-round Lange watch might have shocked purists, but it displayed its provenance as a legitimate
The Collector's Series - Gavin Foo and his more-than-special Cabestan Luna Nera - Monochrome-Watches
He's a father, part of the Deployant.com team and collector. An interesting fact about Gavin Foo (that he happened to mention before our interview), is that despite his best efforts, he still can't seem to complete level 53 of Metal Gear Solid V Good to know Oh, and in his collection, he happens to own the mind-blowingly cool Cabestan Luna Nera.So for those of you new to Cabestan let's start from the beginning. It is an independent Swiss watch manufacture nestled in the heart of the Jura Mountains, in the cradle of watchmaking, the Vallee de Joux. Since 2003, Cabestan have been developing stunning timepieces with a focus on their vertical oriented movement. The Luna Nera was created in 2013 and is limited to a series of 135 timepieces. It is the result of Eric Coudray's (master-watchmaker) imagination. He has managed to achieve what very few watchmakers have ever been able to achieve. He has combined by the vertical capstan wheels, chain and fuse, with a glorious moon phase in 3-dimensi
Grieb & Benzinger Blue Wave based on vintage Minevra column wheel chrono - Monochrome Watches
Grieb & Benzinger are known for unique high-end complicated wristwatches. Their newest watch is the Blue Wave with a beautiful skeletonized vintage Minerva column wheel chronograph movement. Grieb & Benzinger create unique watches based on historical classic movements and acknowledged masterpieces from the period between 1880 and 1930.?Over the course of time, these magnificent movements from brands like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Minerva are just waiting to be rediscovered. And that’s exactly what Grieb & Benzinger intends to do with their Platinum Editions. The new Blue Wave is such a watch. Based on a beautiful vintage Minerva mono-poussoir (or single button) chronograph with a column wheel, they created a very special watch. Introducing the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date Collection
Dive watches don’t really come to mind when thinking about Montblanc, but the brand has a trio of new divers with a classic overall design. Bright, modern dials in blue and green keep things fresh and eye-catching, while a black dial offers a more traditional aesthetic (not featured in this article). Inspiration came from the freezing glacial lakes of the Mont-Blanc Massif, and textures from ice formations are represented on the lacquered dials. The watches conform to the ISO 6425 norm for diving and went through the Montblanc Laboratory 500 Hour Test for durability, so it’s definitely not “form over function”. Meet the new Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date collection. The stainless steel case is 41mm in diameter with a height of 12.9mm and features a brushed finish with polished accents and curved lugs. There’s an engraving of a scuba diver in glacial waters with an iceberg on the caseback. The image was created with the help of advanced laser engravi
First Look: The new Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Skeleton
While its primary focus has been the highly successful PRX collection for a couple of years, last year, Tissot decided to go back to basics by discreetly reinterpreting one of its classics, the Chemin des Tourelles collection. Subtly redesigned, upgraded mechanically with a Powermatic 80 movement and offering new and elegant dial designs, the revamped Chemin des Tourelles is the brand’s definition of a classic, elegant watch at a fair price. Now expanding the collection and offering a view of the mechanics on both sides is the Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Skeleton Collection.?If you look at Tissot’s collection, besides Heritage-oriented watches and sports models such as the PRX or the Seastar, you’ll find an array of classic watches. There’s the Gentleman, which can be defined as a modern casual-chic option; then comes the Le Locle, with its textured dials and retro style, and finally, there’s the Chemin des Tourelles, which can be seen as a contemporary ta
