The skill and effort put in the crafting of this timepiece is evident. It has a stainless steel case of 38mm and a skeletonised dial. The dial further displays three subdials. The outer rim of the dial has silver toned index markers and hollowed out silver hands that add a delicate touch to the timepiece. The band of the watch is a silver stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp which goes well with the rest of the watch.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-014 Green (Specs & Price)
A few months ago, Mr Stern, president of Patek Philippe, creating sort of a typhoon in the watch collecting community by announcing that the brand’s most sought-after, most successful (and unfortunately most premium-affected) watch, the stainless steel Nautilus 5711 blue dial, was about to be discontinued. Yet, Stern also announced that a final edition of this watch was coming, and here it is. Still the same case, bracelet and movement, still in stainless steel, but now with an olive green dial. Meet the new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-014 Green. The Philippe Nautilus 5711A is the most coveted of all luxury sports watches with its sister-from-another-mother, the Royal Oak. Both children of the 1970s, the Nautilus became an absolute success recently and a watch that was virtually impossible to acquire by using classic retailing paths. And because of this rather insane scheme on the market, Patek Philippe and his president Thierry Stern decided to simply… remove it from th
The Collector's Series: A Young Collector's IWC Portofino Vintage Collection 5448 in steel - Monochrome Watches
Today we start with a new series, The Collector’s Series, focusing on collectors and their watches. Well, one of their watches for starters. We will be sitting down with some of our readers and find out why they bought a watch, and what triggered them to buy that specific watch. It could be for an important life-event, or just for the fun of it. A collector can have a passion for a specific brand, a specific complication, a specific historical background or a gazillion other reasons to buy that specific timepiece. We’re talking about these questions and also want to know how it is, owning the watch and wearing it frequently. Of course we will do our in-depth reviews, however we’d also love to hear from owners how their experience with a watch actually is. Today we’re talked with Koen about?his?IWC Portofino Vintage Collection 5448 in steel.?What sparked your interest in watches? Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Interview: Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe, On The Tokyo Grand Exhibition
From 10 to 25 June 2023, Patek Philippe hosted the largest exhibition ever organized by the manufacture, the Grand Exhibition “Watch Art” Tokyo 2023. Some 60,000 visitors attended what's surely a success for the brand, which was accompanied by the launch of several limited editions, including two technical timepieces making their global debut. An important part of the communication strategy of the brand, these exhibitions allow collectors and simple watch enthusiasts to immerse themselves into the exclusive world of Patek. We're talking with Mr Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe, about the importance and purposes of these Grand Exhibitions. After Dubai in 2012, Munich in 2013, London in 2015, New York in 2017 and Singapore in 2019, Patek Philippe chose Tokyo for the sixth of its grand exhibitions across the world. Historically an important market for watchmaking, gathering some of the most discerning collectors around the globe, Japan was a suitable place for this 20
Tudor FastRider Chrono - hands-on with live photos & price - Monochrome-Watches
This year, at Baselworld 2015, Tudor is not only introducing the (our) Tudor Pelagos with a blue dial and the Tudor North Flag, both with the new in-house movement. They also had a chronograph in the vaults, but not one from the Heritage Collection, like the Heritage Chrono Blue. Instead they are coming with a modern, cool and young adults oriented timepiece, the?Tudor FastRider Chrono. The FastRider isn’t properly a novelty, as a previous one was already in the collection since 2011. It was a chrono in stainless steel, with a stainless steel bezel (engraved with a tachymeter scale) and available with a white or red stripped dial. This watch was the result of a collaboration with Ducati (the motorbike brand) and was somehow quite obsolete in the actual range of cool Tudor watches. The new one may have several new features, it keeps?the Ducati partnership. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Tzoumy watches - unique pentagonal watches launching on Kickstarter
When it comes to watches, there are three, maybe four basic shapes people can expect. The most obvious shape is of course round, simple as that. On the other end of the spectrum, we have watches with a square case. Other than that, we can distinguish cushion-, tonneau-, or helmet-shaped watches but that’s pretty much it. Well, not anymore, as Yvan Monnet is presenting the pentagon-shaped Tzoumy Watches collection, now available on Kickstarter.Yvan Monnet is a Swiss-born watchmaker, formerly working for prestigious brands like Patek Phillipe and Vacheron Constantin. In 2016 he presented a very limited series of watches under his own name, with a unique pentagonal shape for the case and dial. In June last year, a chance encounter with Gerrit Spalteholz, lead to a new project called Tzoumy Watches. A little over a year later, the original pentagonal design by Yvan Monnet is reinterpreted into a new collection, launched via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Ad - Scro
