2021 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Sedna Gold Hands-On
Unless you’ve been living in a non-connected world for the last two weeks, you’ll know that Omega has just launched a new, profoundly updated version of its classic Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, now equipped with a new movement – with Co-Axial escapement and Master Chronometer-certified – and with a new design. After looking closely at the two steel models and the high-end Canopus gold version, it is time to look at the fourth version that Omega has presented, this time with its own pink gold alloy. So here’s the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Sedna Gold. The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional in yellow gold, reference 3195.50 (photo by lunaroyster.com)While the Speedmaster is usually associated with stainless steel (it remains first and foremost a racing instrument chronograph), the concept of a precious metal Moonwatch is not new. In the past, mostly for limited or commemorative editions, gold or platinum have been used by Omega on m
Longines Legend Diver Bronze No-Date - Review, Price
The Longines Legend Diver is certainly the most emblematic watch from the brand’s Heritage collection. Based on a 1960s diver’s watch with a typical compressor case, Longines revived this model in a modern way in 2007 and the watch has now become a collection with multiple versions, all equipped with a date display (which was added in 2012). For 2020, the winged-hourglass brand introduces a new edition of the classic LLD, which not only features a bronze case and gradient dark green dial, but also marks the comeback of the no-date display. We take a closer look at the new Longines Legend Diver Bronze. The originsThe modern Legend Diver is a faithful recreation of a very desirable dive watch created by Longines in the early 1960s, the Ref. 7042. This watch featured an oversized compressor case – with twin crowns and an internal rotating bezel – as well as a highly recognisable, rather elegant black dial with painted, luminous Arabic numerals and elongated minute m
Six of the best new dive watches of the year, so far.
The dive watch. The embodiment of a product that is over-engineered for what most owners will use it for yet remains ever so popular. Admittedly, even I own dive watches that never see any action close to the limits of either of them. But there is a thought of comfort to put one on and go about your business care-free, knowing your watch will do its job and does it well. And year after year, new dive watches are presented, from affordable to luxury to high-end. And even though it’s still only March, we’ve seen a fair share of very cool, very capable new divers. And here’s six of the best of 2022… so far that is.Longines Legend DiverThe Longines Legend Diver is a watch that defines the look of the compressor-style diver (even though technically, it isn't one). It's a watch that needs little introduction amongst enthusiasts and collectors. Ever since it was reintroduced by Longines, we've seen multiple new editions with bold, fresh new colours and materials like b
The Garrick S5 continues the brand's devotion to craftsmanship
Long before Switzerland became the epicentre of traditional watchmaking, the Brits were leading the industry basically. Horological greats such as John Arnold, Robert Hooke, John Harrison, Thomas Mudge, and others have all contributed to the craft within the United Kingdom, and beyond. Each of these men was responsible for moving the watchmaking forward, until the downfall of the industry in the UK in the early 1900s. Today, UK-based independent watchmaker Garrick?aims to reinstate British watchmaking tradition in the best possible way it can, by producing very desirable and carefully crafted pieces with an eye for traditional craftsmanship. What started with relatively affordable collections has moved into more complex collections. The newest member of the family is the aptly named Garrick S5, following the success of the previous four S-designated collections.Garrick has morphed itself into a leading company in restoring the art of British watchmaking to the level it once was. Weekly Watch Photo - Vintage Heuer Autavia GMT - Monochrome Watches
Our Weekly Watch Photo has evolved from showing one photo to a set of photos, all showing the same or similar watches. Of course the watch(es) are beautiful and the photos are of such quality that they increase your desire to add this watch to your collection. Of course I cannot help myself and have to tell more about the watch in question, so the WWP is usually accompanied with background information or interesting facts about that watch. This week we’ll have a look at one of my personal favorites, the vintage Heuer Autavia GMT.The photos are from Duncan (@thirtyfivemill.com), who has provided us with many Weekly Watch Photos. The very first Autavia chronograph with additional GMT hand was the manually wound ref. 2446 GMT. Later came the ref. 1163 GMT and the Autavia GMT we’re looking at today is a later model, ref. 11630 GMT. Both the ref. 1163 GMT and the ref. 11630 GMT are equipped with an automatic winding movement, while the older ref. 2246 GMT has a manually wound ch
