TAG HEUER introduces its New In-house Movement, Calibre 1969 - Monochrome Watches
Heuer had a great history in chronographs, especially with the Calibre 11, and seems to be moving towards a great future. After the presentation in 2009 of its first in-house movement since decades, the calibre 1887, TAG Heuer comes back with a very interesting offer in the market of in-house, self-winding chronograph movements. After all the debates around the calibre 11, and after the discussions about the calibre 1887 and whether or not it is a proper in-house movement, this 1969 could be the one to bring everyone into agreement. Let's see why.?We here at Monochrome are big chronograph enthusiasts, whether vintage or modern, like the Omega Speedmaster for its historical importance, or the Lange & Sohne Double Split for its perfection (we reviewed it for you here). The announcement a few days ago by TAG Heuer of a new movement had, of course, attracted our curiosity. And let's be clear about it; we’re looking at an impressive engine compared to TAG's previous standards. But
Only Watch 2017 - The Unique H. Moser & Cie. Venturer Concept Only Watch
One of the great things about the Only Watch biennial charity auction is that it’s not exclusive to big names only, such as Patek or Tudor.?There are many more watch companies, including some of the very best independent watchmakers who also step up to donate one unique, purpose-built timepiece to help fund research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. One of these is a favourite amongst the Monochrome team: H. Moser & Cie, and for the 2017 Only Watch event, they have created a one-of-a-kind piece, featuring their now classical “nude” style, with a few little details to make it extra special. Here then is the?H. Moser & Cie. Venturer Concept Only Watch. The goal of Only Watch is to entice watch brands to create a one-off watch,, with a unique style or feature and then to donate them in order to raise funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Its first dive watch debuted in 1969, the Periscope, and Delma has specialised in sports watches ever since. The Oceanmaster Antarctica is the latest in the Oceanmaster collection and brings a surprising amount of features to a stylish nautical watch that's built like a tank. Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine Pocket Watch in Pink Gold - Monochrome Watches
You might think that Monochrome is about wrist watches, not about pocket watches. Well, I think the truth is in the middle, and I should know. We have covered some pocket watches in the past, which were very well worth mentioning.?Just think of the hefty URWERK UR-1001 Zeit Device – which I wouldn’t recommend to put in your pocket, as its weighs 420 grams -, the Parmigiani Tonda Transforma or Panerai’s latest pocket device. Vacheron Constantin takes us back to the days when a pocket watch was slim, elegant and refined, now they just introduced the Patrimoni Contemporaine Pocket Watch; what a beauty!
