The Tag Heuer AquaRacer Quartz WAY1110 is a fine timepiece. The bracelet is created with polished and refined steel. Moreover, the watch has a finished black dial with distinguished Rhodium plated luminescent indexes. Overall, this dial will definitely attract your eyes. 2022 Cartier Pasha de Cartier Grille 41mm Gold
The Pasha de Cartier collection was launched in 1985 following a design by Gerald Genta that captured the hedonistic rush of the 1980s. The exotic name of the collection was taken from the equally extravagant Pasha Thami El Glaoui of Marrakesh, a loyal customer of the brand and keen collector between 1920-1950. Responding to Cartier’s penchant for unusual shapes, the Pasha was conceived around the concept of a “square inside a circle” and featured a distinctive cabochon-capped protector over the crown attached to a small chain. The Pasha collection prospered until around 2011, when it was discontinued. Two years ago, during the digital edition of Watches & Wonders, the Pasha was reintroduced in 41 and 35mm cases with Valfleurier automatic movements. This year, the Pasha de Cartier Grille stages a second comeback (it made an appearance in the 1990s under ref. 1021 with a rotating diver’s bezel) inspired by a watertight watch with a protective metallic grid ov
Is the IWC Pilot Automatic Top Gun still the Cool Cat of the Collection? - Monochrome Watches
I strapped the new IWC Pilot Automatic Top Gun around my wrist and started thinking. Is this contemporary, black ceramic interpretation of the world's most famous war watch actually the coolest iteration to date? Is the predecessor of the famous Mark XI now the cool cat of the collection??Understanding IWC's ever-expanding Pilot's collection is an art in itself. The essential differences between Classic', Top Gun' and Spitfire' (not even mentioning the Petit Prince' and Antoine de Saint-Exupery' editions), are not really worth getting into –? the watches are too cool to lose ourselves in those silly details. Let's just start with sorting things out. Both the Classic' and the Top Gun' collections contain tool watches, but the best way to describe the difference is the latter is the first one with a contemporary twist. The Top Guns are a bit more fashionable and a little bit younger. Also, the prices differ. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Hands On With The L.U.C Time Traveler One, Chopards First Worldtimer - Monochrome Watches
This week in London, auction house Philips played host to a special exhibition commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the creation of Chopard's first in-house movement; the calibre L.U.C 1.96. It was also the perfect setting for the introduction of two new series into Chopard's L.U.C family; the L.U.C GMT One and the L.U.C Time Traveler One. Today we're taking a closer look at the latter. For as long as I can remember I've loved travelling. Experiencing new places, meeting new people, trying new foods, I can't get enough of it. So I try and travel as often as I can. I'm no member of the jet-set mind you but I get around. There's just something about waking up in a different time zone that gets my motor running.?Fortunately these days travelling is a lot easier than it used to be, although my recent experience at Santorini airport might suggest otherwise but I digress. Just about the last thing most people worry about is getting on the right time-zone when you arrive at your destination.
Hands-On - Franck Dubarry Crazy Wheel (Video, Specs & Price)
A brand of recent creation, the name Franck Dubarry may sound familiar. Franck Dubarry is a French entrepreneur and watch designer. Before launching the eponymous brand, he made his reputation in the advertising sector and in the watch industry by creating TechnoMarine in 1997. A fantastic commercial success, TechnoMarine presented truly original concepts; for instance, it was one of the first to combine diamond and rubber. After 10 years and selling over 2.5 million watches, Franck Dubarry sold his brand to a private equity fund.In 2014, no-longer bound by a non-competition clause, he decided to return to the watch industry to develop a brand under his own name with the idea of crafting contemporary, original watches with a bold design, corresponding to his personal tastes and experiences, in particular travels. Hands-On: Fam Al Hut sets a new Benchmark for Chinese Indie Watchmaking
This article is a guest post by one of our readers and contributors to the Collector’s Series, a gentleman who prefers to remain anonymous but who’s very active on Instagram @winewhiskywatches.We've long suspected that Chinese cost structures might provide compelling competitive advantages for high-end watchmaking, assuming that a Chinese watchmaking brand could effectively establish credibility with an original aesthetic vision, advanced movement design, chronometric precision, durability and exceptional movement finishing. Fam Al Hut, a new independent watch brand based in Chongqing, China, aims to be the first to do exactly that. And we’re taking a closer look at its Mark I Bi-Axis Tourbillon.Editor’s Note: Over the past few years at MONOCHROME, we have covered several interesting independent watchmakers from China, proving that the country has far more to offer than just entry-level movements and fake watches. We can, of course, talk about the rise of brands
