Jaeger LeCoultre has a long and storied history of producing highly accurate and innovative movements. Charles-Antoine and Fran?ois Ulysse LeCoultre created their workshop back in 1833. Initially, they focused on gear wheels but in 1844 had a breakthrough when they created an incredibly accurate measuring instrument for producing wheels. This allowed them to produce industry-leading watch movements. Their movements were so sought after Patek Philippe used them in their timepieces.
Jaeger LeCoultre expanded and started making a range of different pocket and wrist watches with a number of different movements. In the early 1900s, the company merged with watchmaker Edmond Jaeger. This merger took Jaeger LeCoultre's watches to a new level.
The company was eventually bought by the Richemont Group in 2000 which also owns other major watch brands including Panerai, IWC, and A. Lange & S?hne. Jaeger LeCoultre is noted for its men's and women's dress watches. They feature classic Swiss design with hand-decorated movements, and everything is made in-house in their Swiss workshop.
